Timeless Hits
The golden age of swing and big band comes to life! As the current bandleader entrusted by Buddy Morrow, Jeff Bush honors the tradition and excellence of trombone pioneer Tommy Dorsey, bringing audiences the explosive sound and sentimental melodies that defined an era.
- A Lasting Musical Legacy– Tommy Dorsey’s orchestra dominated the charts from the 1930s until his death in 1956, renowned for lush ballads and swing classics like “Opus One,” “Marie,” and “Song of India.”
- Frank Sinatra’s Big Break– Frank Sinatra famously credited Dorsey for teaching him vital skills in breath control and phrasing. During his tenure with the orchestra from 1940 to 1942, Sinatra recorded legendary hits such as “There Are Such Things,” “This Love of Mine,” and “I’ll Never Smile Again”.
- High-Energy Performance: An in-your-face show that takes you on a journey through the history of blues.
The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra continues to inspire “kids of all ages” with explosive swing, sentimental moods, and dance band excellence.
