On October 28 there was a palpable feeling of joy and happiness in our building. It was truly a memorable event and we delighted to welcome so many to SOPAC. Everyone enjoyed themselves and felt proud of our performing arts center. The guests commented on the fabulous food, the terrific silent auction, the memorable words spoken by those paying tribute to our honorees, the amazing CK Swett, the moving words spoken by our young artists and their teacher, and the sweet melodies of Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks. We are deeply grateful to everyone who bought a ticket, purchased a program book ad, bid on items in the auctions and 50/50 raffle, and raised a hand for the paddle raise.
The Gala netted close to $70,000 for SOPAC and its educational programs. In addition, part of the proceeds of the evening have been allocated to hurricane relief, to the Columbia High School Scholarship fund and the Newark Boys Choir.
We thank those who attended in support of our honorees: Mila Jasey, Patti Donovan and Matt Glass. I know they truly appreciated the fabulous turnout by so many of you to pay tribute to their generosity and support of SOPAC.
We look forward to the coming year with great anticipation and enthusiasm. We have another sensational season of performing artists, gallery exhibits, and educational programming planned and hope you will join us for those events throughout the year!
With profound gratitude,
