Red Hot Chilli Pipers
Bagpipes with attitude, drums with a Scottish accent and a show so hot it carries its own health warning. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers’ achievements have reached incredible heights with their groundbreaking fusion of traditional Scottish music and Rock/Pop anthems which they proudly call “Bag-Rock.”
Since they walked away with the top prize on UK primetime TV talent show, When Will I Be Famous in 2007, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers haven’t stopped for a breath, other than to inflate their bagpipes!
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have never been more in demand for their infectious style of feel good music which appeals across all ages to people throughout the world. They have a pool of the very best musicians from Scotland and across the globe, many holding World Champion titles and all serious players with impressive credentials and qualifications.
Taking their signature “Bag-Rock” sound to the masses, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have fast become a global phenomenon, rocking far-flung shores from Melbourne to Milwaukee and everywhere in between.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers sound is a fusion of traditional pipe tunes and contemporary anthems – tracks from across their albums include the likes of “Clocks” by Coldplay, “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, “Let Me Entertain You” by Robbie Williams, Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” a rock medley of Deep Purple’s “Smoke On The Water” and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck.” Plus, “Flower of Scotland,” “Amazing Grace” and “The Hills of Argyll” get a look in too, Chilli style of course!
The band has released 6 studio albums as of 2016, of which their first, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, was the least successful. Their 2007 album Bag-Rock to the Masses went platinum in Scotland and silver in Great Britain. Their third album and first live album, Blast Live (2008), went triple platinum in Scotland. Their fourth release Music for the Kilted Generation, reached Number 2 on the US Amazon Chart and was only held off the top spot due to Adele’s record-breaking album, 21. Success has followed with every new album including Braveheart (2012), Breathe (2013), Live at the Lake (2014) and Octane (2016).
There has never been anything quite like the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Wherever you are, you are sure to have felt the Chilli heat. Now, it’s time to come closer to the fire.
