This light-hearted celebration of the holiday season is your chance to experience an irreverent Jewish-themed comedy night.  It will be terrifically funny, it will be in South Orange, and, indeed, it will be SO Jewish.  Liz Glazer and Judy Gold join forces in this SO Jewish night of comedy and holiday fun!

About Judy Gold

The New York Stage Review has praised comedian, actor, and Emmy Award-winning writer and producer Judy Gold as “so naturally funny, her delivery and comic timing so impeccable, that belly laughs are to be had in abundance.”  Gold’s book Yes I Can Say That: When They Come For The Comedians, We Are All In Trouble (2020) discussing free speech and cancel-culture debuted as the number one comedy release on Amazon and was featured in The New York Times Book Review.  Gold’s solo comedy show Yes I Can Say That!, based on the book and directed by BD Wang, premiered in March 2023 at 59E59.  The Queer Review lauded the show, saying “Not only is it provocative, thought-provoking, and moving, it’s continually hilarious…the jokes come thick and fast…in this nuanced and at times deeply poignant piece of work.”  Gold has two Emmy Awards for writing and producing The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and she is currently a writer on the final season of Better Things.

About Liz Glazer

West Orange resident and SOPAC Creative Community Brain Trust Comedy member, Liz Glazer is an award-winning standup comedian, actor, and writer.  In 2021, she won the Ladies of Laughter Professional Comedians competition.  Her first album, A Very Particular Experience (2023), which debuted at number one on the iTunes Comedy chart, uses “dangerously sharp joke writing” (Vanyaland Magazine) to offer up advice and solace for those who have experienced loss; the album was released on the one year anniversary of the stillbirth of Glazer and her wife’s daughter Leo Pearl.  Additionally, Glazer has won first place in the Boston Comedy Festival and opened for Myq Kaplan and Maria Bamford.  She was part of the Seattle International Comedy Competition and will be part of the upcoming HBO Women in Comedy Festival.  Drawing from her own life as a lesbian, a rabbi’s wife, and a former lawyer, Glazer uses her self-proclaimed “loud, unsecretive, and bold” style to connect with all those who simple want to FEEL.

SOPAC is committed to our mission as a community driven performing arts center that is safe and welcoming for all. For this performance, we have enhanced security and safety measures in place, including additional security staffing and South Orange police department presence.
