Join us to celebrate the newest collaboration between artist Mikel Frank and poet Judith Christian in the Loft at SOPAC!
During this evening celebrating the strong bond between poetry and visual art, as presented in Shifted Construction Plate, artist Mikel Frank will display his paintings while poet Judith Christian reads the poems they inspired. There will be a Q&A following the reading where Frank and Christian will give the audience a glimpse into their inspiration and creative process.
In an age of print-on-demand, they decided to take a risk and produce a one-of-a-kind book. Limited to 100 copies, this fine art book features an embossed linen cover, wonderfully tactile pages, beautifully reproduced images of abstract paintings, and a wide variety of ekphrastic poetry—poetry written in response to the paintings. Books will be available for purchase.
