2019 ushers in one of the most exciting new Blues collaborations in recent times!
Blues bassist/impresario Mike Griot debuts Blues People for the first time at SOPAC. This “Blues mega-band” features some of the most talented tour veterans you’ll ever see… all together on one stage to present stories and standards like you’ve never experienced!
This all-star band includes Gene Lake on drums (Maxwell/Henry Threadgill/Joe Zawinul/Marcus Miller, David Sanborn), Kelton Cooper on lead vocals and guitar (Kool & the Gang/Black Widow Blues) Victor Burks on keyboards and vocals (Jamie Fox, Laura Branigan, JoE), saxophonist extraordinaire Tony Orbach and Mike Griot on bass (Sue Foley, Michael Hill, Omar [Lyefooke], Deborah Coleman, Russell Gunn), …plus the very special debut of guest vocalist Stacy Angela!
