Hosted by comedian Joe Larson, Laughs in the Loft features stand-up comics from our own South Orange-Maplewood community, Brooklyn and beyond. Each Laughs in the Loft event features several comedians in a New York City-style showcase. The talent is announced approximately two weeks prior to each show.  You never know who might drop in!

Meet November’s Comedians

Shaun Murphy

One of New York’s hottest comics, Shaun Murphy regularly headlines at famed club The Comedy Cellar. His most recent YouTube special Neal has garnered critical praise and peer recognition from Dave Attell, Mark Normand, and Dan Soder.

Tito Garza

Jersey native Tito Garza has spent years on stage cracking up audiences with his unassuming demeanor and playful irreverence. From unique takes on current events, to stories about his personal life, he consistently delivers an engaging show never short on punchlines. Garza has appeared at prestigious comedy clubs and festivals throughout the country. He has also appeared on Funny or Die and SXSW and performs regularly on stages across New York City. 

Teresa DeGaetano

Teresa DeGaetano has appeared on Impractical Jokers, The Wendy Williams Show, Good Morning America and Dr. Oz. A lover of The Real Housewives franchise, she’s been heard dishing the dirt on Sirius XM’s Bravo station Radio Andy. DeGaetano also serves as an entertainment writer for A-List Comedy where her punchlines ping around the country on morning radio stations.

Fariaz Rabbani

Fariaz Rabbani grew up in Sunnyside, Queens. He honed his acting chops by training with Rob McCaskill at McCaskill Studios, and has performed stand up throughout New York City. Rabbani has appeared on Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, truTV’s Friends of the People, and NBC’s The Steve Harvey Show. In 2015, he made his stage debut in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night presented by Offline Productions in New York City.

About Host Joe Larson

Joe is a comedian, husband and father – the former makes the latter well….interesting.

When Joe met his now wife she loved how much he made her laugh. He warned her that while she finds it cute now, she may feel differently when he is unable to do anything but joke during the heat of an argument. As his wife eventually found out “you’re funny all the time!” can quickly turn into “Does everything have to be a joke?”

Perhaps it’s not his fault, Joe is after all a second generation comedian. Much to his parent’s dismay at the age of twenty, Joe went into the family business. Straight away he was chosen College Comedian of the Year at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and shortly after he made the move to New York City where he paid his dues at any club that would give him the mic.

Joe has been on stage at some of the best rooms in the city including the famed Caroline’s On Broadway and Gotham Comedy Club. He was nominated “Best Up-And-Coming Comedian” at the NYC MAC Awards, was a finalist in both the prestigious Johnny Carson Great American Comedy Festival and Boston Comedy Festival and was part of the feature film Stand Up 360. Joe has also been seen on Gotham Comedy Live, NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Laughs on FOX, the Tonight Show’s Laugh Squad and the Speed Channel. On radio he is a repeat guest on Bob and Tom and the Bennington Show.

Joe’s show, Couleur Comedy, was one of the hottest shows in Brooklyn. It brought together the freshest up-and-coming comedians and established pros for a dynamic and exciting evening. Now, a South Orange resident, Joe is bringing his show to SOPAC.
