INSPIRED MINDS: Young Artist Exhibition

On Display May 19-August 14
Opening Reception Thursday, May 19 from 5-8PM (Complimentary drinks will be served)

INSPIRED MINDS: Young Artist Exhibition is a visual arts program designed to strengthen the impact of arts and arts education through the local school districts. This annual program gives a comprehensive professional experience to Essex County high school arts students from submission, selection, exhibition, and possible sale of their artwork. Each year, thousands of submissions are juried by a panel of distinguished artists, photographers, museum curators and arts advocates. The result is an exciting and eclectic body of work from the perspective of young emerging artists.

This year, the INSPIRED MINDS Exhibition returns to the Herb + Milly Iris Gallery for a live exhibition, after two years of drive-through showcases. The struggle that epitomized the past two years of remote and hybrid learning reinforced the importance of arts education and the encouragement young artists’ need for self-expression and to validate their achievements. The 2022 show will include more than 70 pieces created by 60 students from 14 Essex County high schools. Once again, we are delighted to offer our participating artists the chance to present their work in this unique and special way.
