SOPAC had a successful giving season and received nearly $114,000 in donations plus a $30,000 grant from The Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation toward the installation of a new roof. We reached 75% of our $150,000 goal.
In case you missed the news, after roughly 16 years with the original SOPAC roof, it has outlived its useful life. As we are knee deep in Hurricane Ida restoration, returning our stage, lobby and open spaces to their splendor, it’s time to install a new roof, which is unfortunately not covered by insurance. We cannot afford the risk of further damage from storms we know will come.
