"Mr. Wainwright has proved to be far and away the most candid diarist among the singer-songwriters who...brought confessional poetry into popular song...Mr. Wainwright wrings more human truth out of his contradiction than any other songwriter of his generation." - The New York Times

SOPAC proudly presents 2010 Grammy Winner for Best Traditional Folk Album, Loudon Wainwright III for an unforgettable night of music!
Loudon Wainwright III is one of America's most cherished music icons, a darkly witty and touchingly personal songwriter and storyteller. With a recording career spanning over twenty albums, including 2009's High Wide & Handsome, a musical tribute to Charlie Poole, this legendary singer and banjo player's songs have been recorded by son, Rufus, Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, and Mose Allison, among others. He started out in the folk clubs of Boston and New York before going on to parallel music and acting careers, acting in a long list of productions from M*A*S*H to The 40 Year Old Virgin. Loudon combined careers in the film 28 Days as both actor and singer, while also acting in and collaborating on the soundtrack for Knocked Up. Music fans won't want to miss Loudon as he comes to SOPAC to celebrate past albums and his brand new release, 10 Songs for the New Depression!
