SOMa for Haiti proudly presents an evening with stars of Broadway and Jazz at SOPAC. Performing will be Grammy nominated Jazz pianist Geri Allen, Cecil Brooks III (Cecil's Jazz Club in West Orange), Maurice Chestnut (Bring In 'Da Noise, Bring In 'Da Funk), and Kenny Davis (The Tonight Show Band).
The evening will also feature performances by Tony Award nominated performer Mark Jacoby and other well-known Broadway performers, including Catherine Brunell (Mary Poppins), Kristin Carbone (Mary Poppins), Bradley Dean (A Little Night Music), Jim Ferris (Lion King), Rosena M. Hill Jackson (The Color Purple), Melissa Lone (Mary Poppins), Shane Bland (Bombay Dreams), T. Oliver Reid (Mary Poppins), Janelle Robinson (Mary Poppins), Kelly Ross (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) and Michael St. John (Erotic Broadway).
The event will be directed by Thom Christopher Warren, whose numerous directing credits include serving as the Resident Director of one of the The Lion King’s national touring companies. Thom most recently directed Susan Sandler's Crossing Delancey at the Bickford Stage Company in Morristown, and Little Women at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
The evening will feature performances of standards, Broadway tunes and more, as well as a silent auction, and all proceeds will benefit the relief efforts in Haiti. For additional information, visit www.somaforhaiti.org.
A portion of donations $250 and above is tax deductible. Donors will receive a receipt from Seton Hall University, a 501(c)3.
