Songwriter, performer, and author Janis Ian is a formidable talent, a force of nature.  Ella Fitzgerald called Janis Ian "The best young singer in America." Her songs “Jesse” and “Stars” have been recorded and performed by numerous artists including Roberta Flack, Joan Baez, Cher, Nina Simone, Barbara Cook and Bette Midler.   In 1975, her classic hit “At Seventeen” won her a Grammy award and five Grammy nominations.
