Carolyn Dorfman welcomes you into the world of love, with a special family matinee. From the effervescence of youthful romance to the depths of relationships, she celebrates the journey of the heart. Add to the mix the fun and frenzy of family life and the surprise of a new world premiere, the promises lush dancing, fabulous music, narration by Dorfman and a company that moves, like no other.

With Facets (A Love Collage) and Divide and Conquer, Ms. Dorfman revives popular dances, with a focus on love! Her newest work Cercle d'Amour is her choreographoc response to what she was once told: "laughter, too, can change the world." The piece for 10 dancers explores the visual and movement metaphors evoked by the ultimate "circle of love," the hula-hoop. Feature music by Andy Teirstein and costumes by Anna-Alisa Belous, this ensemble invites audiences to think, laugh and enjoy!

The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company was founded by Carolyn Dorfman in 1982. Almost thirty years later, she has since crafted over fifty unique dances for her dance company. She is both a guest artist and choreographer at major studios and universities in the United States, and is well-known nationally and internationally for her intellectually provocative dances that serve as her artistic tribute to life and humanity.  Join SOPAC for this event and discover the complexity and meaning behind her beautifully crafted works.
