Family, Music
StarFish, the opening act for the SOPAC Season Four Family Series, is five, rockin’ dads from Maplewood. One of the hottest bands in kids' music today, in May 2009, their nationally-acclaimed debut cd, Rocks, was named “Album of the Month” by Cookie Magazine! The band members, who are also seasoned musicians, have crafted a sound that recalls The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Yes, Phish and Jimi Hendrix. Drawing on their inspiration from ‘60s and ‘70s rock, they have created a unique kid-friendly sound for fans of all ages.
Having toured extensively throughout the tri-state area to play at venues such as the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and First Night Maplewood/South Orange, the band now comes to SOPAC to start off the SOPAC Season Four Family Series. The band will be playing, among other songs, hits like “Here Comes Trouble” and “Joshua’s Treehouse” from their first official album, “Rocks”. StarFish’s tunes are sure to entertain both parents and kids alike with their family-friendly melodies.
