Front Row is a monthly podcast offering an inside perspective on artists appearing at SOPAC. Teisha Bader sits down with the artists to discuss their upcoming show at SOPAC and what patrons can expect to experience.  A new issue will be released each month.   

About Teisha Bader
Teisha Bader was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY.  She received a bachelor of fine arts from NYU in drama. She later spent several years living in Israel which is where she first got into radio.  She is now happy to call Passaic County her home.  Teisha can be heard Saturday mornings on WDHA 105.5 FM from 6-10am.

JANE MONHEIT

An extraordinarily gifted jazz vocalist whose sincere and romantic interpretations of exceptional songs, Jane Monheit is a fan favorite in both the jazz and cabaret worlds. Monheit has garnered numerous accolades in the past decade. Her first album, Never Never Land, was voted top debut recording by the Jazz Journalistʼs Association and stayed on the Billboard Jazz chart for over a year. Subsequent albums have charted high and yielded Grammy nominations. Don’t miss Jane Monheit’s performance at SOPAC on Friday, February 10.

VIRGINIA JOHNSON, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF DANCE THEATRE OF HARLEM

Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble returns to SOPAC for a third consecutive season on Sunday, November 20. Virginia Johnson, Artistic Director of the acclaimed dance school and company, speaks with Teisha Bader about the history and future of Dance Theatre of Harlem, as well as the Ensemble’s upcoming performance at SOPAC.

A Tony Award winner for his role in Pippin, Ben Vereen brings his acclaimed show Steppin’ Out with Ben Vereen to SOPAC on Saturday, October 22. Vereen has also appeared on Broadway in Wicked, Fosse, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair and I'm Not Rappaport. He has appeared in numerous television shows, including the Emmy Awarding-winning television mini-series "Roots." A musical autobiography of Vereen’s life in showbiz, Steppin’ Out highlights his stage career, American Standards, and tributes to his favorite entertainers.

On Saturday, June 4, The Midtown Men perform at the SOPAC 2011 Spring Gala.

French vocalist Jil Aigrot masterfully breathes new life into the cherished classics of her native country in a new program, including the songs of Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel, and Charles Aznavour. Her interpretations of the work of Edith Piaf as the singing voice in the acclaimed movie La Vie En Rose and on the concert stage have resulted in worldwide acclaim.
