Understated elegance meets smoldering intensity in Madeleine Peyroux, the much talked-about singer who marries her southern roots in Georgia with the romance of Paris. With hints of Bessie Smith, Patsy Cline, Edith Piaf and Billie Holiday, Peyroux has the rare ability to transport her audience to an older time and place in a style all of her own. Usually selling out thousand seat venues, this is a rare opportunity to be held in her spell in SOPAC’s intimate theater.
